I have been recommending your 2 CDs ever since I bought them. I am in the NY/NJ area and have been spreading the word. 3 questions?

(1) Do you play public gigs in this area?

(2) When is the next CD coming out?

(3) Are the songsheets for the Dancing on a dream CD published

Ken Greene
Dancers in a Dream

Ken Greene, a Trini born steel pan musician, thanks Ray Holman and Len Boogsie Sharpe for "unknowingly [being] instrumental in arousing my desire to write and perform originals." Those words set certain expectations and Ken delivers a high standard of composition and panmanship.
His ensemble includes keyboards, marimba, drums, bass, guitar, trumpet, trombone, percussion and vocals. There is a strong Latin sound in this pan jazz recording which the horns make pronounced but never overwhelms the Steel Pan. The vocal track "Just Give Me Love" is hypnotic. I say just give me more of "Dancers In A Dream". [eCaroh/Ron

Hello Ken,
I just wanted to thank you so much for doing such a wonderful job at our prom. Everyone commented on how the steel drum sound really added the feel of being in the caribbean. Thank you for all the endless times you tried to get in touch with me and thank you for coming. I will be sure to recommend you if anyone ever needs a steel drum band. Thank you again Ken.

Easy on the ears, with a feel good sound that is catchy leaving you wanting more
Reviewer: T.D. Samuel
Very smooth jazz that is easy on the ears and provides a feel good sound that is catchy - leaving you wanting to hear more. Ken is especially great on the cut "Bluesette" (Toots Theilman)and gives it his own touch which is a tribute to the artist and the performance. Sweet talking is just that! I never knew a steel drum could sound so good. Ken takes it to a new level.

Was Sweet Talking your first project?

Peace and blessings.

Heismooth, I read your reference to Ken Greene's new Cd. I went on line and listened to it and bought it immediately to add to my collection of steelpan music. That is a GOOD sounding steelpan. Well tuned and I like the pieces too. I wish some of the local panists will take this lead ans shape up.

heismooth,

This is a magnificent album and I love it, I hope to order a copy today; I love the inclusion of the piano, sax, trumpet, congos, bass guitar, etc. and the different styles of music played.

I'm surprised that an album of this quality eluded me and my search for quality steelpan recordings. I listened to all the sound clips and I think they sound great, on Bluesette (bet. 24-26 secs) theres a high note that "may" need a bit of touching up, it could simply be the color of the note and nothing more (I don't have perfect pitch). Going back to the main topic of this thread, my concern is about recordings made with notes that are blatently off and that's not the case with this fantastic album...I'll be ording a copy as soon as I finish this message.

Keep up the good work, I'll be adding this fine recording to my ever expanding steelpan collection, along with Ray Holman ("In Touch"), Andy Narrell, "Reid Wright and be 'Happy'", Rudy Smith, etc.

The first time I heard this CD, I knew I had to have it. WOW, is all that's nece
Reviewer: T.D. Samuel
This is the first time I ever heard this artist perform while listening to smooth jazz on my internet Windows Media Player. I was drawn in by the rendition of "Cool Nights" and wanted to hear more of Ken Greene and his sound. I ended up buying "Dancers" and another of his CDs "Sweet Talking". I am a very particular music listener and have not been disappointed by either disc.
